Get involved!

Want to take part on Friday 30 September but not sure how? Then look no further!

We know that responding to the climate emergency can often feel daunting and it can be difficult to know where to start. But that needn’t be the case! There are a great range of resources out there that can help you consider your environmental impact and make easy changes that have a big impact. Often they’ll also help you save money too so you’ll be helping your bank balance as well as the planet!

Almost half of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions come from things we all do every day so every little thing can make a difference.

Taking part doesn't need to be daunting, it could be as easy as:

  • Switching of appliances on standby that you aren't using.

  • Walking, cycling, using public transport or carpooling on journeys you'd have otherwise done in your car.

  • Going veggie or vegan for the day.

  • Think about how you can reduce your food waste.

  • Spending 1 minute less in the shower.

  • Washing up rather than using your dishwasher.

  • Taking your reusable mug or bottle with you rather than buying a disposable one.

  • Planting a tree or sowing wildflower seeds in your garden.

There are lots of other hints and tips like these available from organisations like the Energy Saving Trust. We have also put together some resources that you can view by clicking the button below.
