Stakeholder Meeting
23 October 2019
The autumn stakeholder meeting was an interactive session covering two really important topics. Over 50 people attended to discuss and shape the proposed Andover Vision Climate Change Day of Action and the Andover town centre rejuvenation.
Climate Change Day of Action: The first session was hosted by Andover Plastic Free, Andover Trees United and Transition Towns on the proposed Climate Change Day of Action in spring 2020. Stakeholders were encouraged to share their views and ideas about how they would like this day to look, and what would motivate people to take part. Many great ideas emerged about how schools, businesses, community groups and residents could get involved as well as a central activity in the High Street. The event is planned for Spring 2020.
Andover town centre rejuvenation: Paul Jackson, Head of Planning and Building at Test Valley Borough Council, informed stakeholders that TVBC are working with HemingwayDesign and NEWmasterplanning on the Andover masterplan project and what stage they are currently at. Stakeholders were given the opportunity to ‘plan for real’ and share their vision for the town centre. The next stage of the public consultation will be a stakeholder event on 11th December and a pop up shop at 4 Bridge Street on 11th- 15th December. There will also be further workshops with businesses and schools. A new website will shortly be launched to share information on the master planning progress.
Join us for a drop in session on Monday 2nd December, for an exhibition showcasing the Town Mills Riverside Project and other Andover Vision projects being delivered. Tea, coffee and mince pies will also be available!
