Andover Vision were pleased to support the Andover Cycling Festival held on Sunday 7th July, organised by Halo Sports.  Following on from the success of last year’s event, the Cycling Festival included sportive rides on scenic routes, Criterium racing in Andover High Street and school and family fun rides, on a one mile closed circuit in the town centre.

The event started early with the 80km, 50km and 25km sportive rides taking cyclists into the pretty Test Valley countryside. Families and children of all ages joined us in the High Street to take part in the Family Fun Race – a great way to get involved and keep the family active, with laps up to 10 miles!

The Andover Vision team enjoyed meeting cyclists at the finishing line with a well-earned medal, with Schools and Family race cyclists receiving their medals from Simplyhealth and Love Andover. The Andover Vision team also provided fruit to both cyclists and spectators whilst talking to them about the Vision, what projects are currently going on and how they can get involved. We were also joined by volunteers from the Refill Project, which aims to reduce single use plastic waste in Andover and encourage Andovarians to fill up their water bottles for free at participating businesses in town. Find out more by visiting refill.org.uk/refill-andover.

Thank you and well done to all the cyclists that took part, and to all the spectators who helped make this a great event and created a great atmosphere in the High Street from start to finish.

The event was also sponsored and supported by Simplyhealth, Hampshire County Council, Stannah, Simplyhealth, Love Andover, Co-op and Bulpitt Print Ltd.
